The last few weeks my life has been dominated by lists. Lists of what needed to be done in preparation for the closing on the house we were buying. Lists of what needed to be done at the apartment we were moving from and what needed to be done at the new house. Lists of utilities to be turned off and then turned on. Lists of things to buy. Lists of things to donate to the church yard sale. But the good news is that last Friday we closed, Monday the movers came, and Carol and I are seeing lots of progress on our lists and the “to do” portions get shorter and shorter. We are in the house, getting more and more things in place, checking off more and more items on our list, and going about the wonderful business of setting up a new home. We have appreciated everyone’s prayers and support as we moved through this whole process.
Since I have gotten so accustomed to lists, I thought I would include you in on the fun and make today’s missive a list of upcoming events that you will not want to miss! So, put this on the refrigerator and check them off as you get the chance, there is a lot to do for everyone, so join in!
Friday and Saturday April 3 and 4: The BCC Garden Club Spring Clean Up Day….beginning at 9:00 on both days, members of the Garden Club are going to direct sprucing up the outside of the church and need your help. If you can come and help spread mulch, weed gardens, plant flowers, trim bushes, please bring your tools and join in! A little further down the line: Theatre Works of GA, a non-profit, family-oriented theatre company, will be offering two weeks of theatre camp for kids aged 5 and older at Brookhaven Christian Church this summer. Camps are scheduled for the weeks of July 13th and July 20th. Camps will run daily from 9:30 – 12:30, with a mid-morning snack provided. Parents may choose between a “Basic Acting Skills” camp, which focuses on use of the imagination in creating character, or “Shakespeare for Kids” camp, which introduces children to the exciting world of Shakespeare. Please note that it is NOT necessary to complete Basic Skills before enrolling in the Shakespeare week. Campers may do either, or both! Cost for the camp is $150 per week, with discounts for church members and siblings. For more details and to register, visit our website: www.theatreworksofga.com
So, there you have it: A good list to work through!
